Organic and angular are two words that aren’t often used together in design. The beauty of Clova Rae-smith’s work is that it fuses the two perfectly. They combine gentle curves with defined angles to create a unique tension and visual interest. Their pieces are bedazzled in colour and heavily innovative adding depth to our chompers. Visually captivating, frickin sick and hella elegant, CLOVA RAE-SMITH.

Gems on gems on gems. Rae-smith uses colours like no other. In these two pieces, they employ almost aquatic-like colours that create a sense of elegance and mystique. The gems are the focal points where the arms of the grillz originate. It’s as if the rest of the piece grew out of the gem, where the expression of the grillz are coming from. The gems and colour choice allow for a deep sense of individuality, personalization and self-expression in each one of their pieces. Rae-smith says they are inspired by organic, queer and sculptural artistic styles. To me, their pieces and use of colour seem like a fusion between the fluidity of these movements.

Yooooo sooo dynamic. Rae-smiths pieces are three-dimensional masterpieces, as shown above, they often delve away from the use of colour and focus more on form than anything else. I know this is called the Colour Blog but holyyy I love these. Rae-smiths pieces remind me of wildstyle graffiti on teeth with each new work having its own Distinctive Pizzazz.

Each one of Rae-smith’s pieces unveils the extraordinary in the ordinary if you know what I mean. Their pieces add dimensions to our 32 white canvases innovating personal flair. Their grillz are extensions of people’s individuality and offer a medium for communicating, “Look how sick I am.” I want to be their friend. Thanks for reading.
